The University will collect some personal information when you browse our website. We use cookies to make the website work better for you.

Advertising Cookies

We use cookies to deliver targeted advertising based on your use of our site and to measure the performance of our advertising. Advertising technologies which may set cookies on this site include (but are not limited to) AdWords, DoubleClick, and social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, and others).

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect information on how visitors use our site. This information is used to create reporting and analysis to allow us to improve the site for our users. The cookies used by Google Analytics collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited.

Opting Out of Cookies

Memberships

Clubs and Societies Memberships

Full memberships and Associate memberships can be cancelled, but are non-refundable after 14 days or if promotional credit has been used on them. Memberships are non-transferrable across individuals and the membership benefits are only redeemable by the named card holder.

Personal data provided must be accurate and representative of the individual registering for membership. We reserve the right to confiscate and cancel membership cards should our terms and conditions be violated. 

Sports and Society memberships purchased in error can be cancelled with confirmation from the club president/chair and the Student Central Student Activities Office. Full Memberships last the duration of an academic year and will expire on 31st of August every year.

Full members can extend their membership when collecting their Student Central card by presenting a student card that clearly displays an expiry date with their academic institution.

Associate memberships last for one calendar year from the date of purchase and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure it is valid for the duration of any sports or society memberships.

Student Central Full Student and Associate Membership subscriptions are non-exchangeable. All successful on-line bookings will be confirmed by e-mail and can be reviewed in the purchase history of your account.

Courses and Training

Student Central requires at least 14 days written notice prior to the start of the course to refund any course fees. Course bookings are not transferable across course dates or individuals. Student central reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course without notice, all fees on a course with an amended schedule will be eligible for refund.

All successful on-line bookings will be confirmed by e-mail and can be reviewed in the purchase history of your account.

Events and Ticketing

We sell tickets on behalf of promoters, producers, teams, performers we refer to these parties who organise or provide the event and/or from whom we sometimes obtain tickets to sell to you as our "Event Partner". All fees are non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled and can’t be postponed to a different day.

Student Central reserves the right to cancel or decline events without prior notice or justification, up until the point of payment being taken. Minimum age for all ticket holders is 18 years old and all events are 18+ unless otherwise stated. All successful on-line bookings will be confirmed by e-mail and can be reviewed in the purchase history of your account.

All purchases are confirmed immediately via email and can be reviewed in the purchase history of the account holder. Memberships are active from the date of purchase, tickets and other activities can take up to 24 hours to become active.

If an event is sold out, the system will not allow you to purchase a ticket and no payment will be taken. If an event has been sold out, we will update relevant information pages on the website as soon as possible, however this cannot be guaranteed. Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation or hospitality relating to the Event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk. Neither we nor the event partner(s) shall be liable for you for any loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure.

 

Privacy

Accessing Services 

When you access services through our website you are usually required to supply some sort of personal information. This may be simply an email address or the information required in the online application process. In general, forms on the University of London website will either contain an explanation about how the information you supply will be used or will provide a link to the relevant page.

Your Personal Details

www.studentcentral.london only collects personal information about you either through your college database (if your college has allowed this) or when you sign-up individually.

Examples of the personal data that may be held by us may include but is not limited to full name, Student number; ID number; date of birth, year of study, study location, university email address, personal email address; University address and home address;

Any personal information we collect will never be released or sold to any companies or individuals outside of Student Central.

Communications & Privacy

www.studentcentral.london will send regular Student Central e-newsletter to subscribers, keeping students up-to-date with what’s happening at Student Central and other University of London Colleges.

www.studentcentral.london will also occasionally send out student-related promotional offers, relevant information and announcements on behalf of third parties.

You can unsubscribe from Student Central emails and/or third party communication at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of these emails, or editing your account settings. Please note unsubscribing will not prevent you from receiving emails relating directly to membership administration.

Data Protection Policy

Student Central is part of the University of London, which is a registered data controller and subject to UK and EU data protection law. Room Booking Policy

There is a clear policy in place regarding booking rooms at Student Central. Inquiries should be directed to the Student Central conference team for meeting rooms and the Energybase staff for pool and gym spaces.

Please note:

1.1st Priority will be given to annual repeat bookings

2.For new bookings made before October 1st the following priorities will be made:

a.University of London

b.Member Institutions and their respective Student Unions

c.Organisations aligned to the University’s charitable objects

d.External organisations

3.Bookings after Oct 1st – first come first served

4.Bookings will carry four pricing tiers linked to the above priorities and will be set competitively according to market rates.

5.Individual day passes or other membership packages to Energybase will normally be necessary in addition to subscription fees, when a club makes use of Energybase’s facilities.
